This restaurant has excellent food. I ordered the shrimp pasta and it was delicious! The prices are extremely reasonable and the staff are very kind.

People seem to like this place, so maybe we came in on an off night, but we had a pretty rough time.
The service was slow, which we forgave because we showed up right after a big family, but that didn't really excuse the dirty plates. Also, our food came out in this order: my husband's dinner, appetizers, my dinner, forks. We had to put an extra plate over his food to keep it warm while we waited for him to get a fork to eat it with.
I love the food in Oaxaca, but after more than a week of mole and cheese, I thought it might be nice to take a little break. I came here because I saw the delicious-looking shrimp pasta in someone else's yelp review. Attached is a picture of my shrimp pasta. There was about a quarter-inch of tomato water at the bottom of what I thought was going to be a garlic and oil-based sauce. Very bland and watery.
But I probably would have let all of that slide (kind of my fault for trying to get Italian food in Oaxaca) if my husband and I both hadn't woken up around midnight after our meal to struggle in the bathroom. I'll spare you the details, but it was no fun. I'm kicking myself--the first time I got sick visiting Mexico, and it was because I tried to find some American-style comfort food. Whoops! The rooftop was nice, and the wine was good, but I won't make this mistake again. -

No No No No! Not pizza. Not seriously. If you are looking for a real Italian-style pizza, this not the place. We ordered a simple margherita pizza, which turned out to be a thin cracker-like crust completely smothered with Oaxacanan cheese and topped with a couple tomatoes. Then they brought out an entire array of hot sauces and ketchup to put on top. Nice people, nice roof, nice prices. I see others have liked it, so maybe we're the outliers. For me, lesson learned - "When in Oaxaca, eat Mexican food!

I wasn't expecting much from this restaurant, so I ended up leaving pleasantly surprised. I got the mushroom pasta with a glass of the house red wine. The pasta had a creamy sauce and a lot of mushrooms. It was good.
Also, they served sliced bread with oil/garlic and this other spread that was rather spicy (but also good).
When we walked in, the employee spoke English to us, which was surprising (and somewhat disappointing because I've been trying to practice my Spanish). A lot of the tables were speaking English though.
Overall, it was really good. I'll be back to try another pasta. Also, they have a special (before 6pm) for 99 pesos that I want to try. -

Everything to love about our first meal here, right down to the violin/accordion music on the roof where we ate and all the other tables were full. Two pasta dishes, the garlic in olive oil with non GMO bread brought to the table as soon as we're we're seated, good house wine, and easy on the wallet. A find.
